Remixpoint aims to raise up to 5.6 billion yen, increasing its Bitcoin holdings with 4.4 billion yen.
Remixpoint Inc. announced on the 19th that it will issue the 24th stock acquisition rights (125,000 units) through a third-party allocation for EVO FUND, raising a maximum of approximately 5.6 billion yen.
Of the funds raised, 4.42 billion yen is planned to be allocated for acquiring Bitcoin (BTC) between June and August 2025. The company has already purchased cryptocurrency worth a total of 10.5 billion yen, and with this additional acquisition, the cumulative investment amount is expected to reach approximately 15 billion yen.
The company cites "the larger market capitalization and higher liquidity compared to altcoins (cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin)" as reasons for preferring Bitcoin, and aims to enhance corporate value through medium to long-term holding.
In the financial results announced on the 15th for the fiscal year ending March 2025, the company predicted that Bitcoin would reach between $150,000 and $180,000 by the end of March 2026.
1.2 billion yen related to Web3, starting with the validator business.
The remaining 1.2 billion yen (1200 million yen) will be allocated to Web3 (decentralized web) related investments from August 2025 to April 2026. Focusing on entering the validator business of Proof-of-Stake chains, we will acquire cryptocurrencies for staking on PoS networks, recruit and train specialized personnel, invest in node operation systems, and invest in Web3 startups. We aim to establish a new source of revenue through the synergy of cryptocurrencies and Web3.
What is staking?
Staking is a mechanism in which you deposit your held cryptocurrencies into the network and earn rewards as compensation for contributing to its operation. Ethereum (ETH) has an expected yield of around 3.5%, while Solana (SOL) has an expected yield of around 7%.
Remixpoint invested 750 million yen in September 2024 to acquire multiple cryptocurrencies, including approximately 64 BTC, and based on that success, launched a "financial investment business" that combines cryptocurrencies, stocks, and loans in November of the same year. Since then, the company's market capitalization has expanded by about five times compared to before starting cryptocurrency investments.
This issuance of warrants adopts a mechanism that allows for increasing the amount raised during a rise in stock prices while minimizing dilution for existing shareholders. The company states that it aims to "capture the long-term value appreciation of BTC and the expansion of Web3, while preserving and enhancing asset value," and is poised to continue aggressive investments, taking into account market conditions and the trends of its own stock price.
